Do the police have to read me my Miranda rights?

What should I do if I get stopped by the police?

Can I just ask the judge to dismiss the charge or charges?

What if I know someone who received less time than the State is offering me for the same or worse charges?

What’s the worst thing that can happen in my case?

The answer depends on the individual charges and facts and should be discussed in a private consultation. Generally, a misdemeanor can expose a person to as much as one year in jail or probation and a fine often up to $1,000. Felony cases can involve substantially greater incarceration and financial consequences, restitution, court costs, employment effects, and restrictions on licenses and professions.
